It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we honor the life and legacy of Stephanie Smallwood, a cherished member of the Delta Media Corporation family and a beloved voice of Z105.9.
Stephanie passed away early Sunday morning, leaving behind an immeasurable legacy of love, authenticity, and dedication to her listeners and community.
For years, Stephanie was more than a radio personality — she was a trusted companion, a source of comfort, and a familiar voice that listeners welcomed into their homes, cars, and daily routines. Her passion for radio was unmatched, and her connection with her audience ran deep. She treated her listeners like family, always leading with heart, humor, and sincerity.
Stephanie fell ill in October and officially retired on December 1, 2025, but her presence never truly left the station. Her influence, mentorship, and spirit remained woven into the fabric of Z105.9 long after she stepped away from the microphone.
“Stephanie loved her listeners and was incredibly passionate about being on air. She brought immeasurable value to our team and our community. She will never be replaced.” — Johnette Cochran, General Manager & Vice President, Delta Media Corporation
Stephanie’s impact extended far beyond radio. She showed up for her community, supported others selflessly, and brought warmth and authenticity into every space she entered. Her laughter, kindness, and unwavering dedication will forever be remembered.
Stephanie will be deeply missed, but her voice, her love, and her legacy will live on always forever in our hearts.
